Abstract
Production of agricultural crops has always had its risks and problems.
Among government measures that reduce the risk and improve income
distribution, reference could be made to the use of the extension services and
services of the agricultural crops insurance fund. In this study, effects of
insurance and extension services on income imbalance of 90 sample apple
producers in the city of Neyshabour have been examined. The production
logarithmic variance (Shorrocks Equation) was applied in order to estimate
income imbalance. Results of the study showed that insurance and extension
have no significant effect on the production of apple producers. Furthermore, the
income imbalance has even widened in the case of Gardeners (Apple Producers)
who have used insurance and extension services which is indicative of the
negative role that insurance and extension play in reducing income imbalance of
the producers.
