Agricultural activities are constantly facing natural hazards. The reason
is that production in this section is tied up to climatic conditions and
nature. One way to reduce risks is using agricultural crops insurance
available to reduce risk and improve income distribution among
farmers. Therefore given the importance of agricultural products
insurance in reducing risks and stabilizing farmers’ income, the main
purpose of this research is to role of extension training activities on
agricultural crops insurance acceptance among farmers in Bijar city.
The data were collected through application of categorized random
sampling for insured and non-insured wheat cultivators and completion
of a questionnaire, based on personal interviews, in 2012-2013. The
Coronbach Alpha coefficient was used to determine the reliability of
the questionnaire which was set at 0/80 and thus was considered as
being favorable. Results of stepwise multiple regression also indicated
that 41/7 percent of variation in the dependent variable was explained
by the variables including; contact with agricultural insurance experts,
attendance in extension training class and contacting the staff of the
Agricultural Bank.
